Laurel’s first tooth has emerged. Funny thing is we discovered it in exactly the same way that we found Oscar’s first tooth way back when. For both kids we heard a clink sound on the glass when Brian let them take a sip of his water.

Oscar is fascinated with warning signs and symbolic messages and has a particular interest in the circle-slash type signs. He sees these signs EVERYWHERE; on the road, on household products, at the playground, and he wants us to explain the signs to him. These signs usually make sense to him without a lot of explanation, [...]
Oscar’s Got the Moves

Oscar’s favorite show of all time has got to be The Backyardigans (an explanation of which probably warrants a post unto itself). As a reward for “Excellence in Potty Usage” one of the thing’s Oscar received was a CD of songs from the show which he has played almost non-stop for two weeks now.

The kids and I went to one of my favorite Balboa Park attractions this morning, the Marie Hitchcock Puppet Theater. The theater is this tiny old thing and has the old fashioned theater seats and that musty smell that transports me to the olden days. All of the previous performances have been just as you’d [...]
And the Oscar Goes To . . .

When Oscar was born I went out and bought a video camera with the notion that I’d be capturing every adorable thing he did and creating compelling, award-winning movies that would be the envy of families everywhere.
Well, somewhere along the road to the Academy Awards we discovered that, like most things with young kids, reality [...]
