Baby Notes

Laurel’s continuing to make developmental strides and I wanted to document some of the biggies here:
Cruising – She’s not walking but she is cruising like a fiend. Cruising is the term for supported walking, such as holding onto to the sofa cushions as she toddles around the living room.
Talking – She’s got a few words. “Uh-oh” we’ve written about before. “Dada” was the second word, Brian agrees that she’s used “Dada” for both of us parents but today I am certain that she said “Mama” to me! Joy! There is one other word that I hesitate to admit, since she started using this word before “Mama”…but she’s also been saying “Doggie” for a week or so.
Trouble – She has a razor sharp acumen for getting her hands on just the thing you don’t want her to have. For example, in a drawer filled with 75 of Oscar’s toys that are perfectly fine for Laurel to enjoy, Laurel will find the one toy that poses a choking hazard. She’ll pop that one little toy in her mouth and shut her lips down tight. After the toy is dug out of her little mouth and put out of reach, she throws a fit.
