The Suggestion Box
Jul 23rd, 2008 by Anna
A while back I wrote about some things in the world I wanted changed. Not big stuff, just a few ideas that had percolated up in my head. I’m pleased to report that the Toby Wells YMCA now has a shade canopy up in the big kids’ playground. I left this suggestion in their comment box many moons ago, but I’m still going to take credit for this improvement. All of you playground goers can thank me with pedicure gift certificates.
I just checked the Terrasoles website and it looks like that offensive picture is gone. YOU’RE WELCOME!
I haven’t been to Costco in a while. Can anyone report if Costco is selling muffins in Cafe 150?
Since I’m on a roll, here’s my suggestion for the powers-that-be at NPR: don’t cancel my favorite news show, The Bryant Park Project. I’ve sent messages, left comments, and joined the Save the BPP Facebook group but am also preparing myself for the void that will exist after their final show airs this Friday. Listen here for a small sample of the show. Please tell me what to listen to on Monday morning.
That magazine ad was so odd. Not a very interesting photo and it didn’t even highlight the shoes.
So you could get a live feed of NPR’s “The Conversation” from KUOW on Monday morning. It’s a great 2 hour show focusing on two different topics each day. Aside from the annoyingly frequent interviews with the mayor of Seattle, the themes are pretty universal. I love listening to archived editions of To The Best Of Our Knowledge; Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me; and This American Life, too.
The Conversation is new to me. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks for the recommendation, Carrie!
