The Schulz Goodbye Gene
Aug 11th, 2008 by Anna
Oscar has inherited the Schulz Goodbye Gene. This gene makes the process of saying goodbye to loved ones very difficult and emotional. All of us Schulzes carry this trait…just imagine what it is like when we say goodbye to each other. It happened yesterday when we were packing up from our stay with my sister, Emily, and her husband, Greg. Oscar spent the morning asking “Auntie Em, can I stay here forever?”. He spent a good part of our drive home crying. Here he is wearing sunglasses in order to hide the red & puffy eyes that show his deep sorrow.
His sister offered him a small measure of comfort.

Anna — My kids have the gene as well. It must be a dominate gene passed down through the generations. Of course, Mom and Dad both have it so we can’t blame it on one or the other. Very sweet story!
